A pentapeptide — a selective agonist of the ghrelin receptor.

Ipamorelin is the synthetic pentapeptide Aib-His-D-2-Nal-D-Phe-Lys-NH2.
It binds to the ghrelin receptor (GHSR-1a) in the pituitary gland and stimulates the release of growth hormone. In studies it was notably selective: it had little effect on cortisol and ACTH levels.
